individuals called me from this number stating that since I've paid my taxes on time and never filed bankruptcy, I was going to recieve a one time amount of 5k deposited into my checking account 8-10 business days. I tried calling them back and couldn't even get through because they had blocked my number.

Got a call from 509-492-5035, they stated that since I had paid my taxes on time for the last 5 years that I was going to recieve $5,000. They wanted my checking account number and stated that it would be deposited within 5-10 business days. They gave me a name, job ID number and phone number, my husband tried to call the number while i was still on the phone and got a busy tone. Said Thank You and hung up.

A woman with an African accent said that her name was Angela Wilson and Pamela Dawson (or Bawson?). She called me and asked me to confirm my name, address, phone number, date of birth, last 4 digits of SSN because I was chosen as one of 200 taxpayers that would receive $5000 because I paid my taxes on time for the past 5 years and never filed for bankruptcy. She then asked for my bank account number and I did not give that information out. She claimed to be affiliated with the treasury and IRS, but couldn't give any verification information, couldn't provide the money without the bank account number (ie. not by check). She said her address was 401 W. Park St., Pasco, WA 99301, Telephone call from "Unknown" number. Later, number was called back 509-492-5035. The website she provided was www.govgrants.com.

Bryan Williams (with a thick Indian accent) called to tell me I was randomly selected to recieve a $5,000 grant for whatever legal purpose I'd like to use the money for (ie. tuition, medical, bills, etc). He said he was with the federal government and when I asked what part of the government, he said Grant Department of the US Treasury. He called me at work, which I thought was interesting, and then he asked me to confirm my mailing address, which he'd had correctly. I told him I was skeptical, so he gave me the phone number 1-509-492-5035 and his ID # 071. It sounds like this is a scam based on recent previous posts.
