I have been receiving threatening phone calls from a Tim Miller, calling from 508 928 7251 (local number), saying that he has check fraud charges etc, and he will hunt me down.  He gave me a case number and said to call back legal department 855-245-0137, and then he said the fraud department number 888 8120469.  
I just bought a new car a month ago, he mentioned the model and make in the message and said they will use that to find out where i am and he will meet up with me willingly or unwillingly.  How do i prevent this from happeneing, is this legal?  Making me very nervous.

Joan--  I have a similar story.  I received a call from 561-463-6206.  The woman recited a "file number" and said that there is a formal complaint pending against me and it could end with serving a court order.  She said that the current destination is my work address.  She went on to say that if I wanted to stop this or redirect it to my home, I should call 888-812-0469 and ask for the legal department.  I have no collections problems in my past, so I know there is no legitimate complaint.  I'm guessing this is just another scam.  I'm certainly not calling them back.

I also received a call from a Tim Miller and he made me set up a payment arrangement or else i would be removed from my "schedule". So i set one up and my fiance said i should not have done that. Tim Miller never said what company he was calling from or anything. i had to ask the guy who was verifying my payment arrangement, and he said National Landmark. Well i just gave them a pre paid debit card number and my fiance insisted that i do not let them have my money. So therefor my payment did not go through and now Tim is calling me and saying that he has all my documentation and is turning it into my local circuit court and gave me all the info & also a case number, he also advised me to google bad check laws in my state. Is this legit!?
