This is a load of BS. I build websites for people and these morons from the "Legal Investigations Unit" (with the THICK Indian Accents) are calling a number listed in the "Whois" directory for the website of one of my clients. For those who aren't aware, the "Whois" directory lists the owner of a domain, their address, phone number and email address so that if someone has to make contact about the domain for some reason, there is a way to do so. It's like a phone book. If you want your info to be unlisted you have to pay an extra fee to a proxy service, yearly, and they provide an address, phone number and email for someone to call When you contact the proxy service, they will then contact the owner of the domain with the info.
I encourage my clients to use the proxy but if they don't want to, I tell them to get a P.O. Box and use internet voice mail to avoid giving SCAM ARTISTS access to personal info. This actually costs more than the proxy but some clients don't want to rely on the proxy service, they want direct control and they want immediacy.
My assumption here is that these imbeciles troll the "Whois" and make random calls. I could be wrong since they aren't using the registrants name, but it seems to me that this is complete BS. The calls are also so vague as to be laughable.
MORONS.
