Received a call from this number. I answered just yelling jibberish into the phone. After a few seconds someone answered on the other end.

Claimed to work for Comcast and said that they noticed I have a slow internet connection. Ironically, I do believe that I did as I've been messing around with internet speeds lately. However, it's too much of a coincidence. The individual on the phone did ask for me by my actual name on the Comcast account, which is actually a bit scary because they have your information (or some of it).

At that point I had no interest in playing the account number, social security, birthday game.

The number is a 508 area code. Many of these calls seem to be going out in the Massachusetts area. However, the number is fake which is meant to be believable for those familiar with it.

Unless anyone else can provide an explanation to this, I'm clarifying this as a scam call. I usually don't do anything about these calls but this one was a bit strange to me.

Claims to be Comcast and provides 844-482-6747 as number to call to prevent loss of internet service. The 844 number is associated with spam calls claiming to be from Comcast.

Got a call from this number today, claiming to be Comcast and telling me they have detected noise on my connection. I just kept saying OK and then there was a long pause so I hung up. If this is genuine then they will call back. I doubt I will hear back so too-da-loo and welcome to my blocked list.

I received a call from this number saying he was from Comcast. He said there were problems with my connect (I said I have no problems) he said I needed to check my cables and connections. (I did and said they were all fine) He said he ran a diagnostic and said he needed to send someone out. I refused saying I had no problems and I would call back, he gave me this number 844 482 6747. I hung up and called Comcast. Turns out it is some sort of scam. Do not fall for it.

Received a voice-mail saying it was Comcast and that I had an open work order-which is false.  I chose not to call the number they left after reading the responses from others contacted by this number.
