i received a call from this number from a man named steven johnson. when i told him i would give him my attorney's contact info he said i would be arrested by then and hung up on me.  when i searched the number on the net it came back as an auburn, MA number.  the company name is CIF, there is also another number from the same steven johnson.  it is 704-755-0213, this number comes up as being in belmont, NC.  this man is very rude and hard to understand.  anyone else with this problem?

I keep on getting calls from this number.  I don't answer the phone and this person named John leaves a message saying about my social security number could be blocked. John also says I could be in legal mess and says he wishes me good luck.  I wish some could tell me what I can do about this phone calls.

This is a scam and he is not a debt collector for a legitimate agency because the tactics that he is using are illegal.  I answer a switchboard and am dealing with the same jerk.  He's overseas using voice over ip so there is little the authorities can do to stop him.  Educate yourself on the Fair Credit Act and you will see what he's doing is illegal.  He is even threatening me with arrest for refusing to put his calls through.  After talking to an employee and doing research online I can tell you that these people get your information off of fishing websites that they have set up.  They often know your information because without meaning to do so, you gave it to them.  One individual said that they filled out a form online for a loan and when they got to the end they realized it was a payday loan or one with an enormous interest rate so they declined the offer.  Too late though because they have your details.  Change any phone numbers you are capable of changing and put everyone on notice.

The dude with the accent is from India, it's not Arabic.  We'll let the big, bad men in black deal with it.  The FBI website has a tip line for this sort of thing... and a reallly big budget.

John Grable calls and slanders one of my employee's right over the phone, he has a thick Indian or arabic accent. He then wants my name when I refuse to interupt the employee while working. I offer to take a message then he gets loud and rude.

I received a call just like you described and the man identified himself as Michael Williams. He also said he was from Central investigations and this was an attempt to collect a debt from a payday loan. I have given this person my personal information and now I dont know what I should do. Can someone tell what I should do?
