This number called my DNC-listed landline this morning at 0818 hours.  As I wasn't near the phone and don't have an answering machine on the line (because 98% of all calls I get on it are either scam artists or 1% wrong numbers), they did not leave a message.  I blocked my number and called the number back.  I immediately got a recording saying I reached "Windham Professionals" or some such thing.  I remained on hold but then the message told me the person I was calling was on another line (sure they are) and then told me that the mailbox is full (sure it is.)  With the callers information blocked in the online white pages those are usually sure signs of a con artist.  I looked up "Windham Professionals" and they appear to be a collection agency out of New Hampshire.  If so, they're either scam artists, operating illegally, or they have the wrong number because I have no unpaid debts.

These people called again, this time today at 0827 hours.  Because I had blacklisted their number with my call blocker, they were automatically disconnected.  Well, I blocked my number and called them back.  They are indeed a collection agency.  (They didn't actually come out and say it but it wasn't difficult to read between the lines.)  They had my number listed as a relative of the person they are trying to contact, but the last name was certainly no relative of mine.  However, after discussing the matter with them, I realized they were actually looking for the wife of one of my brothers-in-law, who may be using a prior name.  I must say that two individuals I spoke with at Windham Professionals were very polite and responsive and promised to remove my number from their records.
