I too too a call a few minutes ago from a male with an east indian accent.  He claimed to be a technician for windows operating systems. He noticed that I have been having problems with my computer which he could assist me with. I ended the call.  We get calls similar to this several times a year on our land line phone. There was no name attached to the caller ID other then the 507-372-5883 number.

Another call from Duane here. These folks are sooo annoying. Usually I just let them have it screaming at them (and I not usually a screamer). Perhaps the whistle I have put away needs to be retreived.
I am sure it is not the poor guy who's number they are using. And I too got a call from my self shortly after handing op the other day on one. A tiny bit spooky.

This number just called and didn't leave a msg. I am so glad I read your posts! I also got a call that someone this morning used my credit card fraudulently and now these posts have me wondering if he is related to that issue. The credit card company is looking into whose computer the charges were attempted from as it was an online purchase attempt that they denied. We shall see if it turns out to be him....

Same as above.  This guy said he was from Microsoft, and they detected that my computer had problems.  Said he was "certified" to help me.  He wanted me to enter on the run line to launch a web url.  This probably will take me to a website that will infect my machine.  He used google's url shortener.  This is where they can take a long or suspicious url and make it look legit by embedding it on google's site.

They are also spoofing this phone # and caller ID with some software.  This is not Duane, and he is not in Minnesota.
