Received a series of text messages today on a Verizon phone, several from the 900-080-0040 with 2 extra zeros added on, saying our talking time is some percent used up, one said it is used up and there will be extra charges on the next bill. The thing is this cell phone is almost never used and would never use up its minutes! There were also text messages from the following numbers:
702-335-3860, 503-884-9436, 503-780-5136, 503-770-8665 and they said things like Susan told me to send this to you, or Hi - and then proceeded to text a short message in spanish. All these calles, supposedly from Verizon and then from these other numbers came in one afteroon. This phone is hardly ever even turned on. Certain the Verizon calls, so called, are NOT from Verizone because they would be inaccurate. And the others are probably some friends just pranking. Some also said you wave won,but didn't say what you had won. I am going to say they are pranks. That is the least harmful thing these calls would be.
