Received a text message on my cell phone from 503 929-3160 with a message "WELLS FARGO BANK ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: 503-688-9425."

Called the number from a land line and got a automated message for the Wells Fargo Card Activation line. Although the recorded message sounded broken and a little garbled. It wanted me to enter my "card 16digits number". Sounds real fishy!!!  I don't have a Wells Fargo account.

I just got the send text message only it came from 9713442271. the message said wells fargo bank alert your card has been deactivated please contact us at 5036889425. I do have a wells fargo account however I knew my card had not been deactivated because I had just used it ,so I called wells fargo bank and spoke with customer service just  to make sure and they assured me that they have not contacted me  and that this is most definitely a fraud attempt.

Fraud attempt!  The phone number of 971 is a verizon number.

Yeah I got the same message.  I don't have a wells fargo card. Scam.

i just got the same message on my phone, the text about it being deactivated, sounds like phishing to me
