Likely.  My husband has a rare blood type, and last year they called all the time, even on *Christmas Day*, and he finallyh had to get really aggressive with them and say he'd report them and take police action if they didn't stop harassing him - no, he wasn't available just then.  They've called twice today.  :-/

Why doesn't he just have a standing appointment with them every six weeks?  Then he won't get calls.  If he has a rare blood type it's the least he can do.  Some day he may be the one who needs help and it might come from someone he helps now.  I have the least rare, in other words nearly everyone can use my blood, and I go every six weeks.  Why not?

It's an extremely easy way to save lives.  One month I received an email saying my blood has saved nine lives that year.  Glad to find out it's a new number for the Red Cross.

I keep getting calls from them as well and I wont give blood anymore because last time I did my blood clotted in the needle and they tried to un-clot the needle by moving it around in my arm! needless to say I had a bruise over the entire inside of my elbow for weeks.
They don't understand when I tell them this so I just don't answer. Btw this isn't the only number they use!!

After giving for years through another blood center and having more than five years of not donating due to cancer, I tried again a few weeks ago. I don't have enough iron in my blood, and my oncologist won't let me take supplements. I've explained this to the Red Cross, but they continue to call every week. It really wouldn't be so bad, but they don't leave a message, so I end up on this site to verify that it's them. I've told them that I'm not going in for a finger prick every week to see if I can finally donate again. I blocked one number, now they're calling from this one.
