I recieved a call on my cell phone from a lady who barely spoke english stating that i had a payday loan that i never paid back. I have no idea who the company is that she is talking about and she said she was from a law firm out of california. i dont know anyone from california and asked if i had an attorney and that i would be arresed tommorow morning..Should i be worried?

I received the same phone call a few minutes ago. They said they are a law firm in pa and threatened the same thing.

If  you have ever looked for a pay day loan, you get these calls.  This is the second such call for me.  If you notice, they all have American names, but they are obviously from India.  It's a scam.  Cuss them out, laugh and hang up!

How do you stop it? And they had most of my info, just not the correct Ss number.

I just got the same exact call. A lady called while i was at work with the name kelly wilson, but she barely spoke a lick of english, i told her i would have to call her back after work. when i did, she was unavailable so i spoke to a Brian King, who also could speak NO english. Said that i had taken a payday loan out and never repayed. but he couldn't tell me the date or anything. he said that a subpeona was going to be issued tomorrow and that i would have to appear in court on friday, but he couldn't tell me what courthouse. i was actually starting to worry, even contacted a friend of mine that was a lawyer for her advice.
