I started receiving telephone calls from these people just this past Friday.  They left a message on my cell phone saying almost the exact same thing they said to Lady Jay.  At the start of the call there is a lot of noise in the backgound (for maybe 3 seconds) and then a person starts speaking "This message is for (insert your name here). I urge you NOT to ignore this message.  This is a time sensitive matter, on Monday April 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. a case will be filed in (insert state of residence here) Court against you!  My name is (my caller was a woman who couldn't pronounce her own fake name) call me back at (480) 422-1817 extension 358.  Do not ignore this call.  If you do not call then I wish you good luck in Court"  OMG I was so terrified!  My husband was with me and said that it was a scam and to forget about it, so I did, until I got ANOTHER call just today on my cell phone.  The number showed on my caller ID as Unknown, what a dummy I am, UGH, I answered the call and it was the same woman stating the same thing.  I told her I had no clue what she was talking about, that I have never in my life taken one of these online payday loans, and she said "Oh?  You have not been notified by our officers about this case before?" and I said no and she comes back with "I HAVE TO transfer you to my Superior Officer immediately!"  Some guy, who didn't state his name, got on the line and starts with the same rhetoric, so I asked him Who He was and was with What Company  He doesn't tell me who he is but he does tell me he is from The Crime Unit in Sacramento, California.  He further goes on to say that I am being charged with Interstate ACH Fraud and Federal Charges because this IS an Interstate crime.  So now I'm totally Freaking Out!!!  He said that within 2 hours that an Officer would be @ my place of employment to Serve & Arrest me on the spot and that if I'm not there then they will speak to My Boss and leave a copy of the arrest warrant and then they'll go to my home after that!  Even though I was terrified of being arrested, I just HAD to laugh out loud to myself because I AM my Boss, own my own Company, so the "Officer" he'd be sending out I guess would be complaining about me, to  ME rofl.  But because I was still so upset about what he's continueing to say, I immediately called my Husband.  My Husband checked these people out by looking on Goggle and said they were a scam.  

Now that I'm home and I read the other posts here, I Totally Agree!  I, too, have reported them to the authorities. But I'm also calling the people that he mentioned in the phone call.  OMG he had THREE friend's names AND their telephone numbers!  What frightens me is how much information these scammers can get about a person AND their families and friends.  Will there ever be a time when people can actually believe what someone says when they call without having to worry???  Where is the Consumer's Rights of protection, other than the FDCPA?  Is there any other recourse or additional channels?
