It sounds like you hit the nail on the head! Makes sense.explains why the no talking and the no answer on call back take place. I get these calls continuosly morning noon & night but I haven't answered my phone for over 10 YEARS now unless I know the incoming number or I'm expecting a call from a party that my not display a name as I would recognize. ! big help in ID'ing the incoming calls for me is obviously an answering machine to screen but even more handy is ring identification mine is offered by COX digital phone service, which makes it easy to know if I even need to bother looking at the ID displayed on the phone. So I can keep doing whatever it is I'm doing and not have to worry and if it is indeed a call I need to answer normal people will leave a message and then I can simply pick it up and stop the answering machines recording. The service fee for ring Identification is very cheap and worth every penny. Cox also gives me more services like call blocking! I just input the number to block and it's done simple as that all from my comp with cox's listed incoming phone numbers right there for me to pick out! very easy to use, the hard part was trying to locate the web page to do it. Cox has no link to it from their phone service page but GOOGLE got me there in a pinch.
