Woman called and asked for my husband by name.  Told her he wasn't available and asked if I could help.  Would tell me her name, company or call back numer.  Very rude - said will call back.  Good luck - I buried him 3 years ago.

When some stranger calls and will not ID themself, you never give out personal information like that over the phone!  Sheri did the right thing and YYY, you need to get another job, other than telemarketing, which sounds like what you do.
When someone calls and ask for someone by first name and will not talk to you directly, you can be sure its a collector that's got some wrong information and dosen't deserve the time of day!

YYY, i agree with you 100 %.  There is nothing personal about telling someone that the person they are looking for is deceased, and it would probably stop the calls from coming.  
Hubbard, I can guarantee you that if they are asking you to verify your personal information and it is a collector, they already have all the info they need on you. I get the idea of not GIVING the info but verifying is just verifying what they already have.  I get the feeling that you'd be the same person to sue for someone giving your personal information to someone else without proper verfication.
