They called threatening my mother, same story as the rest of these (Caller ID said Texas) - They called her yesterday, she didn't answer, they called her work today telling the receptionist he was from the State of California and it was an emergency - said she had pay day loans from 2010 and had closed her account so they couldn't take the money out, and now the police were going to come and arrest her at 4pm because there is a felony warrant out.
.... my mom has absolutely no record, and while she HAD done a couple small loans in 2010, they had taken the money out immediately when she got paid.
This guy knew her name, birth date, email, asked for her social, AND
He called my phone number today. He called my mom's sister (my aunt) and left a voicemail, freaking her out - and my mom has never put my aunts phone number on anything or as any kind of reference ever, no idea how he got her number.
He knew info about her that he shouldn't have known - these [***] do their research.
Just remember, that while this is total fraud, a scam, and illegal - EVEN if you really are in debt, there is no debtors prison anymore, they can't arrest you for that.
