You, and not Darla, are the first in this thread to both refer to debt collection and use the term "scammer". The OP did not sound at all certain for what purpose she was being called.

Your all-purpose rant against "deadbeats who like stealing from banks", or whatever, is way over the top in this context. It's also another dreadfully familiar example of the histrionics which spew from desperate crooks in call centers, those who would otherwise be knocking over liquor stores if not for finding the religion of "making debtors pay dearly" for bogus and legally dead paper.

Scammer. Man claiming that he sent information to my address and prior address (he knew what counties they were in) and said if I didn't call him back at an 877 number by 3:30, he would have to close my account. He used a lot of words that meant nothing but sounded official - like recommend the account for disposition. Block the number. My personal information was recently leaked in a data breach, so I'm not surprised I'm being targeted.

you realize you are the only one on this thing complaining?? You might want to call those people and find out why they are calling. Although there are plenty of complaints about agencies out there, they exist because of people like you who don't pay their bills. I for one do. But when I was younger I made some mistakes.  So when I get this type of call, I call them back to find out what is going on. You on the other hand play this game you're playing and never pay your bills. If you'd put your energy into paying what you owe rather than calling people scammers... you'd probably get somewhere and those types of calls might eventually end. Go get a job, pay your bills and grow up! Bill collectors are real. If you fall short or your obligations, they will call you.

Are you going to call a cop a scammer if they ticket you for speeding?? NO! If you speed, they will pull you over. If you don't pay bills for "years" the calls or process will progress.

yours truly,
a debtor that hates collections calls but owns up to debts I haven't paid.

And do you realize that you are one of many "pay your bills" shills that we encounter regularly on this site?  And since you admit you seem to get lots of these calls, how about YOU pay your bills and stop harassing others who do not owe.

So you are admitting that you are a habitual deadbeat.  That means you lied when you told the lender that you would pay him back as agreed.  So if you lied once, why should we believe you now, after all you could be a habitual liar.

It seems obvious to me that you work for this alleged company. It is very possible that the person above has no connection to the party they are trying to reach. After all people change their numbers all the time and for all you know this is one of those situations.
