Craigslist Phone Harvester offering to buy your car like carmax paying cash through dealer network

I got a call from them yesterday n they left a message about buying my vehicle.  Today I called carmax n told them I received a call from them n I was directed to a manager who told me they never do that!  They told me its a scam cuz the guy spoke to me yesterday (I called back n told them I will call them as soon as my husband gets home) told me that he needed that vin # to pull a carfax. Mind u they got my info from Craigslist. Plz dont give them information!

They just called me (my car is for sale on Craigs). I entered them as a contact named "Scambags" in my smartphone. Thanks you guys!

Just got a call from this number regarding my car for sale on Craigs.  It is a scam.  

My husband called the number and gave him our vin number and email but nothing else.  Hopefully this won't come back to bite us. I knew something wasn't right but my husband was convinced it was ligit.
