They're a 'charity' so they can call any number all they want - the Federal Laws don't apply to 'charities' - which I think sucks.
If I really want to give them money - and we do to good causes, such as saving abused pets, etc. then by golly I'd write them a letter and give them a cheque. I don't need people REMINDING ME and ASKING ME for money. I know who I want to give money to. And the more they ask, the more I'm inclined to NOT give them anything.
Yah, these peeps say they're for the Texas State Troopers Association or something like that. I highly respect Officers of the Law - their jobs are hard and thankless, not to mention dangerous. I can make a donation to the Texas Department Of Public Safety (and not for my driver's licence either) anytime to directly help out our 'finest in blue'. I don't need to give money to somebody I've NEVER heard of.
So for all charities calling phone numbers out of the book - take notice!
