I must be on some list sold to spammers/phishers/etc. Every day I am getting calls from weird area codes. I don't know anybody outside of my own little zone, so no one should be calling me and if they were legitimate, they could leave a voice message. I believe them to all be doing the same Caller ID spoofing game. Not legitimate businesses with intent to commit fraud, extortion or identity theft. My allowance of block-able numbers is full. I keep a log. Here are some of the bogus callers recently: (478) 599-0000, (471) 599-0000, (475) 593-0000. I get calls every day from this one: (845) 831-6882 claiming to be from Microsoft. Thick Indian accents. All of these number will not get answered. They just persist and continue to occur daily and it is a bit annoying, stupid and unwanted. Call ID spoofing is too easy and seems to be a trend to trick you into answering the call out of curiosity. Don't do it. Hang up.
