something about a sheriff.  Sounded like they were about to ask for money so I hung up.

Just received an unsolicited call, no voicemail left.

This number from Texas does not leave messages. What does that tell us?

Called my cell and knew my name.  Said he was calling from the TX State Trooper Assoc.  When I stopped him to say this was a well-known scam, he stuttered and said "I'm not taking money over the phone.  We will mail you a pledge card.  I told him if he had my name and number he must have my address, too, so why didn't he just mail the card to begin with." and hung up on him.  He wasn't very happy.
