The first clue that I had that this was a scam was when the guy said "this is not a sales call" and he proceeded to tell me that I was referred to them from my doctor and I was entitled to a "free" medical alert system and to press "1" to get it. I did just for the fun of it. A lady comes on, obviously reading from a script, asks me if she can ask with whom she is speaking. I tell her "no you may not" and she repeats the question again. I repeat the same answer. We went back and forth so many times that I think I must be talking to a computer. Then I hear her talk to someone else. I can hear other solicitors in the background. She then goes on a 5 minute spiel on how I can get the free alert system plus $3,000 in free groceries, etc. etc. I hear cheering in the background at one point. I assume they had just hooked a sucker. She then asks me for my address. Instead of answering her I ask her a question. She doesn't answer but repeats her question. This happens several more times until she talks to someone in the background who tells her to hang up because I'm being rude. I'm not, but that ends the call. 100% scam.

Call received at 7:30am, well before the 9am time that's actually legal. Considering that it's a scammer, violating both the Do Not Call list and the legitimate times to call, this shouldn't come as a surprise.

I don't answer callers I don't know, but based on the location of Eugene, OR and what Craig above said, I believe this is a new number and location for the Medic Alert scams. They use the same script offering thousands of dollars in coupons.
I get these calls from CA, TX, FL, (518) Albany, NY and (516) Long Island, NY. Specifically Massapequa, NY.
I never answer these calls. I check 800Notes and it's always a scam.

This scammer uses the same CallerID4U Telecom that Rachel from Card Services used. It's a revenue sharing program between scammer and telecom Co.
