I have Care Improvement Plus and have had it for 3 years now. They and Medicare have already paid a $500,000+ open heart surgery bill for me, and I have had no real adverse problems with them. I have a nurse that calls once a month to check on me and we have gotten to be friends over the phone. I have had one nurse come to my house. She was very proficient. All she did was check my vitals, update my meds, and that was about it.
I do have to say that they drive you crazy with phone calls - the last was a recorded message about being sure to get your flu shot, etc.
I don't care what others say - this is NOT a scam operation. I live within a mile of a VA hospital and am registered there as a 40% service connected disabled vet, but I would have NEVER entrusted them with my heart surgery. Thanks to a cousin who worked at Emory in Atlanta, I was able to have two top heart surgeons do my surgery ( aortic valve replacement and three bypasses).
