Just got a call from someone saying they were from MICROSOFT and were concerned with someone hacking into my computer.  Yes, smarter than a 5th grader.  I asked for his phone number and told him my husband would call him back.  Indian accent, says his name is Roger ... could hear many conversations going on in the background ... doesn't sound legit to me.

Me too.  When I asked for more information he hung up on me.

Asian accent male called to advise us that  our  computer was being accessed and I needed to turn it on so as he could help me. I have a Mac and I have never received a call regarding my operating system, but my husband has a PC. and has had problems so he turned on his laptop.  The scary thing is that the caller directed him to look for a series of numbers to show him that he could already see that he had a problem.
He was transferred to second person who was  to walk him through the next steps, this time it was an asian woman.
My gut was telling me not to let him go any further.  I asked him, to ask her for her call back number, then I googled it to see that 424-256-1717 was a scam number. Incidentally the original call came through on a local number.
I am a life time believer in APPLE and my gut!

I received a call from a person with a heavy accent stating he was calling to fix a problem with my Windows operating system. He wanted me to turn on my computer and type in code in the Run comand box. I was suspicious as I do not trust unsolicted calls. I asked for his name and phone number. He said his name was Kevin however, he definitely did not sound like a Kevin. Do not allow anyone from this number access to your computer or give them information about yourself.

Scammed my mother.  Used explitives.
