Sends virus links through text. Trolls craigslist for phone numbers. Don't open links from this phone number they have trojan virus attached. I also posted a scam alert on facebook...read on:
Craigslist scam/virus alert. Just thought I would pass this along since it actually happened to me. Luckily, I didn't fall for it, and my pc alerted me to the malicious file. Apparently, many people like me don't accept e-mail responses due to spam. Anyhow this person sent me a text (I was ISO an item). The text read: Is this what you are looking for? If so, it's yours. There was a link to a photo. the website was imgkey.org. Once I got there it read "unable to view image, please install Gimp viewer plug-in. That's were the trojan virus is.
My daughter actually uses Gimp photo editing software, so everything looked legit. The difference is, The link directs you to gimpsoft.org, which is NOT Gimp's website.
