I too have had this# call me with the same threatening tactics as most of the aforementioned comments..I filed a complaint with the consumer financial protection bureau..the Ohio attorney General as well as the Tennessee attorney General..the tactics they use are against thelaw..they are not allowed to threaten imprisonment which is what they are doing..I highly suggest anyone that reads this and has had this kind of treatment from this#  to please do the same..they claim there law firm is called u.r.law firm..Bristol Tennessee and the so called paralegals name that threatened me was nelson martin..please file a report to stop these criminals..

Reported today as a bogus payday loan collector, the kind committing extortion dressed as debt collection.

Consumer debts in America, including payday loans, are a *CIVIL* matter, not criminal! The extortionist threats are empty and the callers' conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach.

My notes from October 2011 on payday loan and "hot check" collectors are linked below.

Got a call earlier from 423-758-3355, saying their from American Cash and have affilliations with 1,000 lenders across the the states apparently.  Said if I dont pay I would be going to jail anywhere from 7 to 21 days....going to call my original lender, seeing as I spoke with them 4 days ago regarding to make arrangements on my debt... anyone else can vouch for the validity of this matter?

Update**  Got off the phone with my original lender, and she stated it's a scam for the number mentioned above and said they have been getting numerous calls lately regarding this.  She said they can't take you to jail for this type of debt and illegal what they are doing and to just disregard the calls from the company " American Cash ".  Hope this helps ease some peoples tensions, as mine was pretty high momentarily.  Cheers!

It's a scam-you're not going to jail, they're just trying to scare you into paying something that is either beyond the SOL (statute of limitations) or isn't your debt at all!
