It's B.S. First of all, the IRS does not call. They will contact you in writing. The only time that they MAY call is if you have an open case with them and have spoken with them previously. Also, they would not leave a message via a "robo-call" like this one that is cut off. Nor... would they call someone's cell phone. Most of the calls I was getting have been on my cell. Last year they actually had real human beings calling and leaving these threatening messages. Some Indian-guy with the name of "Officer Alex Jones" or something. I personally received several calls over the course of 6 months. I have now been suddenly receiving these "robo-calls" as of late from various areas throughout the country. Please note, this number will not be the only number you will get these calls from. It's annoying... but, it's also scammers trying to get your information to steal $$ from you or attempt identity theft. You'd be amazed how many people will just pay to "make them go away not realizing it's "not for real". Also... IRS representatives are referred to as "agents" not "officers" as this has come up before as well. I work in a CPA office. Just saw a training on these types of things. It's real. It's real b.s. You should report the call on the IRS website. If you don't believe me... believe this article that came out from Forbes.com last week.... http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/ ... t-discriminate/
