It is a scam running out of Joplin Missouri, they Claim to be a collection agency called Mid American Collections, and they claim that you owe an unnamed creditor a small amount usually less  than 200 dollars

ITS REAL THEY ARE A ACTUAL COLLECTION AGENCY WHERE YOU PROBABLY WENT TO GET A PAYDAY LOAN... IF NOT SOMEONE THAT HAD YOUR NUMBER AT ONE POINT

If they are in collections it is my understanding they have to identify themselves as such attempting to collect a debt

Get the same call.  I've never had a payday loan.  Thanks for posting the information, now I can just label as do not answer or just hang up on them. Anyone know if you can report these numbers? I, like many have registered on the do not call registry, but jokers like this always seem to do it anyway.
