Caller to a church identified himself as Michael Judd and stated that he was moving to the local community.  He claimed he grew up in the community and was moving back.  Caller demanded that a deacon or other church officer call him.  I called him and asked him the nature of his call.  He became very rude and would not provide any additional information.  Call seem to be some type of scam.

Same thing happened at our church twice.

Same guy just phoned, bass voice, very pushy.  When I said my connections here date back that far and that we might have some common memories, he quickly got off the line.

man called, said his name was Michael Judd, he was asking for one of our elders. Said he wanted to move back after leaving our area years ago. He planned to come to church Sunday and be here every Sunday after. I asked if he wanted to talk to our preacher and he said no, he doesn't want to bother him. He sounded very friendly. However, we did call him back after seeing some of the posts on here, to see what kinds of questions he had. He would not answer "the whereabouts of where he would be living", but he did say he had a job as a brick layer. He gave a sob story of parents dying, son dying, and was fired from a barge job. Needed money for a timing belt to get here. And would pay us back Sunday when he came to church.

DO NOT HELP HIM. Yes, as Christians we are called to help all, but let's start those who are truly in need. Maybe once there are no more poor on the streets, we can help the spam callers! LOL :)

This man also called the church office ans requested for 2 elders call him back. The same story: he lived here 42 years ago and moving back into the area. Did not want to bother the pastor.
