want me to send them tax money on $4700 check they will send me and then they will send more money

sent a check in the mail for 4,700  said to pay the taxes on it 2980 only by west union  to expedite the processing  and release of your funds totally a SCAM........... DONT FALL FOR IT !!!!!!!!!!1

Clearly a SCAM! I received letter and check in the amount $4700, with instructions not to cash check until I spoke with claim agent at this number to get information for Western Union.  Of course after I wire fees to this company in CANADA I would immediately receive check for $115,300.  I have reported this company to every US company referenced in the letter in addition to the US Postal Inspector, and the Federal Trade Commission.  Please everyone, do the same and expose these SCAM artist. FIGHT BACK before someone is taken by these CROOKS!

my mother in law received a check for $4700, bank name was JPMorgan Chase, Wilmington,DE. Called the bank and was tranferred to their fraud dept., The acct number on the check was NO GOOD. No such acct #. They said is was a fraudulent check and my mother in law would be the one at fault if she deposited the check into her account.JPMorgan seemed to be familiar w/this and said they could not do anything about anyone using their name. So don't cash the check!

WRONG - NO legitimate lottery or sweepstakes sends a check to pay taxes or fees with. Those are paid directly from legitimate winnings before you get a check.

The scam is to get you to send MOST of that money by Western Union or Money Gram - before the check bounces. (WIRE MONEY - - no way to trace back to anyone)
They know the banks will release the funds in about 5 days, but the check will not officially bounce for about 2 weeks.   So you wire them the money -the check comes back as bogus and NOW YOU OWE THE BANK the money from the bogus check - You can also be arrested for passing bad checks!  

Without depositing the check - take it your bank and ask them to verify it first.  They will tell you its bogus!
