Just got a call from this #. Caller ID said "SAMIS COMPANY". Don't know anyone from that area code so I didn't pick up. After the answering machine picked up I heard a young man's voice go "Hello? Hellllooooo?...Hello?" a few times. It sounded like there was chatter going on in the background as if it was a call center in India or something like that. Yet I googled the number and turns out it belongs to an insurance company in Toronto. Why I would be getting a random call from an insurance company in Canada (I live in the US), with which I am unfamiliar, I have no idea. The past few days I've been getting calls from a similar number (with the last 4 digits being zeroes) in Maryland, which Google told me was also an insurance company. I am assuming that these numbers are being spoofed by scammers.

Has anyone else been getting calls like this? I wonder if these specific companies should be contacted and made aware that their numbers are being spoofed.

If you have been looking for a better deal on your insurance or have clicked on anything to do with insurance, that's probably why you're getting this call.  Everyone and their brother will call you for just one inquiry about insurance.

We got one today, but no message.  Checked the number on-line and that is how I saw your comment.  Our caller ID also said Samis Company.  Never heard of it!

I had a phone call at 8:20 A.M. this morning on 9-19-15.  The phone number was from  416-365-0000 Samis & Company.  I said hello a few times, but did not receive any response and hung up the telephone.
