I just received the latest scam (Caller - Angel) about a supposed fundraiser for the Toronto Police Department.  They are looking for advertisers for their trade magazine that can be found in all the Police departments. A close friend is a police officer and asked for details including his full name and their details, he refused and provided the following website:

http://policenewsmagazine.com/

He mentioned being located at 329 Yonge Street, Toronto, but this is a record store.   The website is outdated and mentions Edmonton.   They are not affiliated or related to the police department, but selling ads for a publication that likely never exists.

Don't fall for these despicable criminals trying to scam your $$$.  They should be arrested and locked away for a very long time.

Had these [***] calling our office today. Cops in Toronto earn over $100,000 they don't need to beg for money. IT's that taxpayers that need to beg.

The calls have returned asking for a $300 donation for a Police Magazine.  Asked for details name, address and how they obtained our number, but they refused to reveal any information.   Yet, they want us to provide credit card information.  

Stay away from these scum!

Our office was called by these scammers again today. Seems every year they take a run at calling us. We have switched to a new phone system with an unlimited banning list so now they go on the list.

After years of wasted time for our staff do deal with scam faxes and calls and Bell doing nothing we had to buy a system where we can block an unlimited number of calls.

The nature of our business demands that every call be logged in so we waste staff time and money dealing with the fraudsters. In this day telemarketing is absolutely dead for any legitimate business. Anyone calling like this is guaranteed that we will never do business with them ever.
