There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Same thing I got as well. Screw these [***]. These low life people hide behind the computer screen all the time.

Here we go again... "Officer Nickie Johnson from the Internal Revenue Service... NOT !!  Total scammers trying to scare people into giving them money.
I used to get this type of call a LOT from different numbers, different voices, but ALWAYS the same script verbatim. I have been reporting them to the FTC. They know about the scam but still appreciate reports regarding this.

This website needs to add "Scammer" to the Call Type list below.
