Well, yes, that's the way the scam to SUPPOSED to go:
(1) Buy a magicJack for about $100/US in India with an offer of "free" phone service for 3, 6, or 12 months.
(2) Pick out and have a YMAX Corp. number assigned to it. (They provide the phone numbers for all magicJack devices and exist almost exclusively for that reason.)
(3) Find an internet connection, preferably in your mother's basement, in a slum in India, where the government has no interest in helping to enforce US laws.
(4) Get copy of script to read.
(5) Start calling the US for free (both inbound & outbound calls).
(6) Read the script.
(7) Profit!
