I got one of the calls from the 415-506-2392. Once I heard the message, I knew it was scam. I called the number and got some guy on the line (with an accent) who hung up on me twice once I started asking questions about who he was and if he could provide some government identification. When I called back again, I asked to speak with "Julie Smith" who left the original message telling me to call right away because the issue was "time sensitive," and if I didn't call back, they would take action against me. But I was told Julie wasn't available because "she fell down from the first floor and taken to the hospital because she was seriously injured."
Seriously! That is about the dumbest story I've ever heard. These scammers are stupid beyond belief. (By the way, the Julie Smith message is a computer generated voice, definitely not real!)
I've reported this to the IRS Inspector General's office. I hope they are arrested soon for pretending to be federal government officials.
