Called landline at 11:15am; caller ID said Novato, CA.  Machine picked up and man on recording said he was calling from the US Treasury about an enforcement against me.  Disregard of the message would be interpreted as a second attempt to avoid appearing in front of the magistrate - or something like that.  Yeah, right - bring it on.

I just got the same call, with the same message. They really aren't very convincing.

Same call.  Called back just for fun on a cell phone.  Got an Indian in an obvious boiler room.  Told him I was from DHS and wanted his green card number.  He said ok.  I told him that he was subject to immediate deportation.  He mumbled and hung up on me.  Called them again and got a woman with an Indian accent.  Same boiler room.  I know we have a deficit to deal with but these scammers take a prize for stupid.

9:06am Eastern Time, and the same Indian voice pre-recorded with the call back number shown above.  So totally stupid it's hard to believe.  "A federal criminal offense..."  Since when did matters with the IRS hit that level?  You'd have to be Al Capone.

Same call on my answering machine, now I am going to call back for fun, knowing what to expect.  Thinking about recording call on phone.
