I am constantly receiving calls at work from this number stating to call as soon as I get the message or have my attorney call. If not, I will be lost or something. 3 years ago, I got this same call and told them I was the attorney. they stopped calling....They refuse to give any information as to why they are even asking for me at work. I refuse to give them any information. This foreign person "tony" wants to verify my name, etc. I don't give them the time of day.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I got a call from this number saying that he needed my lawers information. I told him I didn't have one. He asked if I knew that there was a lawsuite aganist my name and socal. I told hime tthat I didn't know that. He asked if I had got a call last week from them. My phone lost services and he called back and told me that I needed to call him back as soon as I got the message. I tried to call the number back and all it diid was beep onces and go quite.
