Caller said that I had received a payday loan in the amount of $300 and if I did not pay it back, would immediately go to jail.  He said his name was Michael Parrish and had a very heavy accent. He claimed that this loan was obtained in October 2007 and that the funds were deposited into my bank account.  He had the bank name, but no account number.  Ironically, I did not have an account at the bank he named in 2007.  He called again today and I told him that if he called again I would report him to the Better Business Bureau.

That happened to me today!! I was freaking out. They called me at work. What is it?

I received the exact same calls today.  They said I had taken a payday loan in may of 2008, that I never payed.  They wanted me to fax them a copy of my bank statement, including my account number to prove my inocents!  I ended the call right their, and googled the number.  So glad I did.  I put a fraud alert on my credit report and contacted my bank to insure my info is secure.  Good luck to the rest of you!
