Same as others report, but a recorded robot voice. Says federal charges are placed against me, but do not give my name or case number. Scam.

Fake irs, ignore and block!

Two different recorded robot voices have called our house phone on 2 different occasions and have left messages requesting a call back asap.  The message states:  Ignoring this would be an intentional attempt to avoid an issue of appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense.  Before the matter goes to the Federal Claims Court house or before you get arrested, please call them back at 415-200-1424 hope to hear from you before the charges are pressed against you.   I called the phone number and the call continues to disconnect.  Has to be a SCAM!

Sure it is, but you can stymie them if they're unable to leave threatening messages. The number is included to make the call sound real, however, this character didn't prepare enough to include a working number. Refrain from returning calls to unknown numbers just the same.
