Got this call twice today - July 14, 2016.   PLEASE TAKE THIS ADVISE - NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER and NEVER call back the number that called you.  IRS will never contact you by phone to "threaten" anything.  Of course, there are always exceptions and this LOW-LIFE from 414-552-6226 is not one of those exceptions.  FRAUD is getting more creative and it is easy to call forward and use an anonymous "toss away cell phone".

It's almost so obvious to be not legit!  Received a “ROBO” call from IRS claiming that they are going to file legal action unless you call back.  However, this SCAM USES 2 CALLS  or 2 MESSAGES.  The first call - the message was "deliberately terminated” after leaving the call back number of “41” (then the call terminates without finishing the number).   THIS SCAM needs you call back or be naive enough to redial.  NEVER CALL BACK as you have accomplished that you have confirmed that your phone number is good - which will certainly get sold to another scam like our good friends named "Brigid or Carmen" from Credit Card Services..........  My second call or attempt had the same message again – this time the full number to call back is repeated 414-552-6226 at the end of the call.  After this call, I added the number to my ridiculously small list (only 6 numbers) that VERIZON gives to the customer to block.  The reason for this long message is that you will most likely get a third call if you elect to block the number – within 15 min of adding this number to the block list, a call is made with “NOT_AVAILABLE UNKNOWN_ NUMBER” in the CALLER ID.  Is it a coincidence or the same scam - I have no doubt it’s the same scam person........  JUST REMEMBER SOME VERY IMPORTANT SUGGESTIONS:  (a) never call back a phone number that is or cannot be verifiable, (b) even if the number is legit (it could be spoofed), the caller will almost always leave a detailed message (still need to verify before calling back) and the base suggestion yet if it's true (c)  A TIP WAS IN SIMILAR LIST from the "Brigid or Carmen" scam (the one from Credit Card Services  when the phone rings and if you pick up, you should wait for the other party to say something – most scams or ROBO calls will hang up…….
