Checked with PP&L as caller said she would get "government sponsored discount" on electric service if no other government subsidy used and account was current.  Actually, PP&L said it was a scam to offer electricity from one of the electricity suppliers.  The number is a mobile number.  I will report it to the FCC as a violation of my Do Not Call.

Caller ID said "Public Assist" so I knew it was a spam call.  I didn't say anything when I picked up the phone - neither did anyone on the phone.  I just heard a click.  I hung up after a few seconds of silence.

I am registered on the do not call list and keep getting harrassing, scam, and irritating calls from people I do not know. I'm tired of this. I am going to file a complaint about this number on the do not call registry site as I do with all these unwanted calls.

They use an off shore dialer and spoof the phone number.  That way, they are immune from the do not call laws.
