I need to talk to the owner about a five year government GSA contract."   Once again trying to sound like they are with the government without actually stating such, and implying they have something in hand for you when they have nothing except a fee for unsolicited service.

Same deal from "Chandell" this time. We are a consulting group soliciting firms for a GSA contract in your area.

This is particularly evil in that we're currently digging out from under Hurricane Sandy where I am - and there is a now some FEMA and other government money starting to flow into the area for recovery projects because of that. So it would be easy for an inexperienced small or otherwise hopeful business to think this might put them onto a contract for some of that work.

Got the call today from "Shandall" ... did not mention Market GSA ... sounded like Angel with government contract/access.
