Portfolio bottom feeders are probably certifiable -- they have been calling for years, on a so-called "debt" that they have admitted cannot be verified, that they acquired in 2001, but never even started harassing me over it until 2009!!! If it was so important to them, you might think they would start calling right away.
The stupid thing is nothing but a line on a printout. It is for some credit card to some bank I never heard of, and I have not had a credit card since 1997. So, in 2010, they said they were going to "cease" collection on this so-called debt, and they sent out a 1099-C, We had to file it with our tax return, it made no difference.
Well, guess what -- these vermin sent out ANOTHER 1099-C today, same so-called debt, they tacked more dollars onto it, and we have another 1099-C to file this coming year. And this is after we sent formal complaints to the IRS, the Post Office mail fraud unit, the FTC, and the state attorney general's consumer protection office.
BTW, if they "ceased" collection efforts on their phoney debt claim, why have they called nearly 100 times since they
"ceased"?????
