They called me last night at 6:38 pm. I couldn't really understand the caller due to heavy accent but he said he was calling from a staffing agency. The caller ID said Carnegie, PA and I am relocated out of state and he said it's for a job in the Florida area. Then he said "the caller ID shows Carnegie, PA but I work at an offshore location." I told him not to contact me again. Offshore location but supposedly in the same country...? Sounds too fishy for me.

They don't necessarily search for jobs in a potential area, I've discovered they don't bother to read your resume when you clearly state the position you desire and the area you are willing to work, especially when you place the information at the top of the first page of your resume. 'What, you don't want to relocate 2000 miles away?' And yes, it is extremely difficult to hold a conversation when you keep repeating, 'I have no idea what you said.'

callerid says Carnegie, PA & they emailed me as well, said they are with Mastech. It sounded like it was a call center & the person has a thick Indian accent. I have never applied with them and the position was supposed to be contract & in Sunnyvale, CA. My experience with a lot of these staffing agency calls is that 1) have a heavy accent and don't understand what they are saying; 2) they don't really know much about the jobs or the location;3) if you say you're not interested, they ask for a referral.

How can in be a legitimate firm if they are calling you on a number from states away.  I have had 2 calls a week and a half apart and did research on the position they claimed to be hiring for did not exist nor had ever existed

If they wanted to be trusted try recruiting for jobs that actually exist first
