They've been calling me for months.  The number changes but the message remains the same.  I think they may be trying to gather personal information which they then may sell.

If you do want to save money on your electric bill, use the PA Public Utility Commission's PA POWER SWITCH web site to choose the cheapest electric generation company in your area:

I would NEVER take a cold call from a telemarketer for something like this.  First of all, you have NO IDEA who is really on the other end of the phone line.  Given that the phone number they are supplying is BOGUS, the call is most likely from a CROOK.  They are breaking the law by calling people who are on the DO NOT CALL LIST after all.  So they are already CROOKS once over!

Buyer beware.  I wouldn't talk to these people.  When they call, just let the call go to voicemail.

I get a call from this phone number on almost a daily basis and I can't seem to get it to stop.  If I answer, there seems to be no one on the line.  If I let the voicemail pick up, it's some kind of message about being able to save on your Duquese Light bill "due to deregulation..."  I feel this to be a scam...one time I even got some weird message where you could hear two women and it sounded like they were discussing our household: "Do you think they're home?"  and then, "Yeah..."  This completely creeped me out.  If you attempt to call this number back it says it has been disconnected--even if you call two seconds after receiving the call.  And here's the tricky part--the message is always the same yet sometimes the phone number changes.  Crazy.

This IS a scam.  I just got called a few minutes ago, and it's the 11TH different number that's called me for that spiel about changing electric generation providers to Duquesne Light (or just plain "Duquesne" as the stupid recording says; that's what made me suspicious at the beginning).  There is no such phone exchange that begins with "0" or "1", so the numbers being displayed are all fakes.

The only way the calls will stop, at least for me, is if a.) I turn my cell phone off for the next month so it will go directly to my voice mail when they call and hope they get the message; b.) change my number (that'll be a real mess); or c.) some police group finally catches them.  I don't think any of those scenarios will happen any time soon.

I'll report this once again to DNC.  And I've also been sending my info to the state attorney general's office.
