Calls all the time, usually @ suppertime. They let it ring until machine hits, then hangs up with no message.
Caller I'd says ELLICOTT CITY, MD...
Probably spammers or $ begging ! I will block them.

Got a first call, from this number, on 10/8/15, at 7:07PM, EDT. I didn't answer and no message was left. I agree with B, it is probably someone begging for money. From this CID and area code, usually FOP.

Another unwanted call from "Elliott City MD 410-505-3373" on 10/10/2015 at 11:47 AM and as usual no VM was left. No VM = call wasn't important to begin with.
Another number from Ellicott City MD is 410-505-3209 and based on the area that this annoying, pain in the A-- call is coming from, I suspect it's the F.O.P.'s calling and begging for donations.
I won't donate over to the phone to any charity for several reasons:
1) you cannot verify the identity of the individual who called you
2) you cannot verify the name of thier organization that they claim to be or represent.
And once they have your info., your screwed.
