Does anyone know if the number 409-209-9862 is a scam?  I have received numerous calls stating that they have a complaint against my name and social.  They say they are from the State Department in Texas.  They have also told me they are from the Affidavit Department in Texas.  I think they are the same people who told me they were from the FBI - Criminal Department (but not sure) since they all have Indian - Arabic - accents.  They will not tell me who filed the complaint, or any information other than a case number.  Every time I try to find out the company, he says repeat your case number and I will answer your questions.  I told him over and over that I was asking him a question which he would not answer.  He also called my attorney.

The people that called me from The Department of Investigation - the criminal department - the FBI, all of those - would always tell me at the end that if I did not respond then all they could say was good luck to me and have a good day.  

These people are harrassing me and I cannot receive phone calls at work.  They call my work all day and if I hang up on them, they call right back.

Yes... I received the same calls and at work.  Yes... it is a scam.  Do not give out any information and hang up on them promptly.  If anyone really wanted to speak to you regarding and urgent legal matter they would put it in writing... AND they do not have the right to call you at work to harass you.   Report the number if you wish, but it is an overseas number that gets routed through an American city, in this case a Texas city... they are full of BS and love to argue.  Not worth it... just hang up!

i have been geting the same calls. i dont even understand what he is saying. but the keep calling me . he said he would send the police to my house and arrest me . i told him thats what you will have to do and that i will be out side waiting.

I,too keep getting these messages at work. They also call my work, my mother, & another employee @my work. They also stated they were coming to take me to court daily for the last 2 weeks. Does anyone know any way to get these crooks shut down? Somehow they have all kinds of personal information on me & that is scary. I have my bank working on identity theft but the calls still persist.

These people must think we're all [***] STUPID!!  seriously.
I don't know who these people are, but all they're getting is my voicemail & NOTHING MORE!
Don't waste your time on these people. How they get your CEL# is beyond me.
