We answered on speakerphone; oddly, an outgoing message for Josh asking US to leave a voicemail is what we heard on the other end

answered this call and an outgoing message for Josh asking me to leave a voicemail come on. I hung up. "Josh" shortly calls back and says his boss "being interested in buying my house/houses in the area" and to make an acceptable offer (???) as I pause before replying, he hangs up...... are they trying to match  tel # to address? HMMMMM?
