daily calls

this number called me twice today..the first time they hung up immediately..the second time it was a weird garbling sound like from scary movies...

Please do not call.

reported the calls to the police, and the cop said that it's probably a scam from south africa forwarded through an american number.  he advised not to give out any information and not even to pick up the phone.  he said it may be possible that the person on the other end is taking some information from your phone as long as you're connected.

the cop also said that the other numbers in town that reported such calls were not local numbers (i.e. they moved here).  interestingly, i recently did a big move, and i, when looking for a place on craigslist, had to deal with a bunch of scammers from west africa.  i gave my number out before realizing it.  wondering if anyone else has such a possible connection.

got the same call several times myself on my mobile phone never answered and not a message left either time. how do they get your mobile l number anyway????
