Repeated calls from this number, saying they are with some California Solar Energy initiative.  When I ask to be removed from their calling list,  they say they are not selling anything, are not subject to any "Do Not Call List", and are just providing information.  When I ask for a supervisor, they hang up.   A scam for sure.

some energy company...california solar energy initiative or something like that...didn't bother to pick up...they've been calling everyday this week from slightly different numbers...but still 408-290-69xx

They claim they are not a sales call and they do not obey the "do not call registry" because I number is registered.
I have repeatedly asked them not to call but they call at least 3 or 4 times a week. I live in a townhouse with
covenants that forbid solar on the roof. I have told them that numerous times but they still call. I can only

Sounds like scammers are trying to impersonate the legitimate solar-on-the-roof companies, what they really want is your credit or debit card number. Then, on the other hand, there are scammy companies in the USA who pretend to do honest work too ...

It will only be a matter of time for this scammer to be caught.  Reporting your numbers to the FTC is making a difference.  He/she/they will be charged for fraud.  The more calls that they make the better for the fraud charges.
