Called asking for owner, regarding Visa / Master Card processing 2-20-09

thinks Iam a business (Raptech)(iam not),  claims my rates on my visa /mastercard are going up

They claim they are "Visa Master Card Merchant Services." They say that our credit card processing fees are increasing this year and are offering a "free" analysis of our processing costs. I cut them off before they could go on and told them NOT TO CALL BACK. I was burned a few years ago by a company solicitating the same services.

These companies prey on uninformed small business owners and will likely make you sign a contract that will bind you into terms that they conveniently fail to inform you about. Trust me...NEVER do business with credit card processing services that solicit you. NEVER.

I had to report said company to the Attorney General and BBB of their respective states for their unethical and alarming business practices.

BEWARE!

Just got a call from these jerks.  I stopped her spiel and made her tell me the name of the company:  "Atlas Payment Processing."  I knew what was coming next so I stopped her again and told her to take our name and number off their lists.  She seemed to want to argue, saying they weren't selling anything and I didn't know what they were calling about.  I told her I knew exactly what they were calling about (I've learned from reading this site and others) and repeated my instructions to remove our name and number, etc.  She got really mad and hung up on me.
